We did it again: a German Design Award 2018 for Essential Box and Fixed Line.

24.10.2017 - The “Essential Box” router we created with Vodafone has been awarded a German Design Award. This award honors projects that genuinely represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape. The jury acknowledged our "...routers’ sculptural pureness and its quality to blend into a modern interior while invisibly servicing users."

We're now on record track with this being our fourth award for the Essential Box, and the second for the Vodafone design language guideline.

We would like to thank the jurors! And of course to our friends from Vodafone Group Design for this great collaboration!

An elegant collection of smart devices that naturally belong into any contemporary interior. The current line-up consisting of a high-end DSL router, an entry level DSL router, IP-TV box, IP home surveillance camera, audio dongle and home-bridge.

Technology is implicitly ubiquitous in today's homes so it no longer needs to visualize technical capabilities. We believe instead that it should quietly disappear. This product range is designed to be distinct and ownable by combining and proportioning basic geometries into a harmonious co-existince of technology with your home environment.

Design Guideline Development

For the final step of this project, we developed a new Fixed Line design guide that is intended to inform and inspire designers, developers and engineers to create more devices according to the new formal principles.
